Where Physical Sciences goes wrong.

Two things sink Physical Sciences marks, and they are both mechanical. In physics it is the free-body diagram: a learner who draws the forces wrongly has already lost the question before doing any algebra. In chemistry it is the mole — stoichiometry questions are a chain, and one wrong ratio takes out every mark downstream.

Neither is a talent problem. Both are a practice problem, and both respond to being walked through slowly enough, often enough, by something that does not get impatient.

I got 0 for the whole question and I think my forces diagram was wrong.

Very likely. Describe the situation — what is on the incline and what is touching it?

A block on a slope with a rope pulling up the slope.

Then you need four forces: weight straight down, normal perpendicular to the surface, tension up the slope, friction opposing motion. Draw those, then we resolve.

Physical Sciences homework help, at the hour it is needed.

Physical Sciences homework has a specific failure mode: your child gets an answer, it does not match the memo, and there is no way to tell which of the six steps was wrong.

Grace works backwards from the answer with your child, finds the step that broke, explains why, and then sets a similar question. That is the loop that actually moves a mark.

  • Photograph the question, including the diagram
  • Checks the setup — diagram and given values — before the algebra
  • Works to the data sheet and formula sheet your child gets in the exam
  • Practice questions in past-paper style with worked marking

Questions about Physical Sciences tutoring.

Does it cover both papers?

Yes — Paper 1 Physics and Paper 2 Chemistry, across Grades 10, 11 and 12.

Can it help with practical investigations?

It can help your child understand the method, variables and conclusions. It cannot do the practical, and school marks for practicals belong to the school.

Does it use the official formula and data sheets?

Yes. Working to the sheet your child will actually have in the exam is part of the technique.

What about Grade 9 science?

That is Natural Sciences — see Natural Sciences.
