Life Orientation carries a full subject’s worth of marks toward the National Senior Certificate, and it is the one subject where a learner can move their aggregate with a fortnight of honest work. Most do not, because it does not feel like a real subject until the results come out.
The Grade 12 Common Assessment Task is written nationally and marked to a national guideline. It rewards structured, evidence-based answers exactly like every other subject does — which is a surprise to learners who have treated LO as a free period.
